Grant Forward Alerts Bug

From Grant Forward:

"As you may have noticed, there's been a bug causing Grant Alerts to be sent to the incorrect recipients.  We've had to disable Grant Alerts temporarily in the meantime.  The development team is currently working on a fix and the alerts should be working properly again in the next two weeks.  We're sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you all for your patience."

If you're not familiar with Grant Forward, it contains information on over 9,000 active federal and private funding opportunities in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. It also contains fellowships and scholarships for grad students. The database is updated daily and compiled weekly. It is available to TSRI employees through an institutional subscription.

Open Access Week

Today heralds the start of Open Access Week, an international event promoting open access. For those who wish to learn more about Open Access, here are a few articles and resources to get you started.

Free Book Exchange

See a book; take a book; and if you can, leave a book. The Kresge Library’s Free Book Exchange offers volumes of summer reading possibilities, from classic sci-fi and romance to literary masterpieces and mystery thrillers.

Open to all TSRI faculty and staff, the Book Exchange was created in response to requests for novels and leisure reading materials from graduate students, postdocs and Scripps Green Hospital patients and their visiting family members.

No check-out is required. Users may simply choose a book or two from the Book Exchange shelves, located at the end of the alphabet in the journal stacks, and return the book when finished, pass it on to a friend or donate it elsewhere. Exchange is not mandatory.

Hardcover or paperback book donations to the Book Exchange are always welcomed and may be contributed:

• In the book drop at the main entrance of the Kresge Library (4^th floor of Stein)
• At the library reference desk
• Via interoffice mail to 400S (use for one or two donated books only, please. Be considerate of Mail Room staff!)
• By placing books directly on the Free Book Exchange shelves

ChemDraw/Office system maintenance

The ChemDraw/ChemOffice site will be unavailable for downloading or
activating software from Friday, Feb 15th at 2:00 p.m. (Pacific) / 5:00 p.m.
(Eastern) through Sunday, Feb 17th due to planned system maintenance.

The site outage will not affect the ChemDraw/ChemOffice products that are
already installed on your computer(s).

Synthetic Communications archives available

The Kresge Library is happy to announce that all years of the journal, Synthetic Communications are now available online to TSRI. Previously TSRI only had a subscription to the most current years, with the archives being available on microfilm. In 2013, TSRI's new subscription includes online access back to volume 1, 1971.
